How much should internet be controlled?

 CIPA (Child Internet Protection Act)

Recommendations
Have students and parents sign internet agreement, and ensure teachers check before allowing the kids to use the internet.
Have a policy in place in accidentally inappropriate material was viewed

  1. Karen, the fact that parents and students sign an agreement it does not mean they will follow but let the school the way to correct is a violation is being made, I remember as a teacher I signed a document about the good use of internet and even some of my colleagues do things they are not supposed to, and some of them have been fired so imagine parents and students, but it is a good tool though and as I mentioned above give the school the right to correct.

  2. That is true Noemi, and that why I believe it should be monitored as mentioned earlier. Well have disciplinary actions and let parents know where you stand on violating the internet agreement.

  3. I tend to agree with you ... but I wonder, given the issues administrators have with dealing with disciplining teachers in the current heavy teacher union movement, if this is even possible. We seem to have difficulty holding teachers accountable for their basic job of instruction, so is it reasonable to hold them accountable for web use?
